I found this up on flicker within a set of some very imaginitive effects/instruments that a very creative individual was sharing... and i'd thought that someone other than myself would find it interesting.

in particular this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alh84001/1227451449/in/photostream/

where a DMM was modded w/ what is called an infinity switch where activating the switch brings the feedback knob to max. position and deactiviating it brings the feedback to its original position, plus he added an LED when the inifinity switch is active.

i'd find this sort of hands-off switching very useful in what i'd like to do and increase the possibilities within this effect.... any ideas on how to perform a mod like this?

I would guess it's switching a resistor in and out of parallel with the feedback pot.

anyone have any others thoughts?

not sure what size resistor to possibly use, need to look at the schematic to alsofind out the pot rating.

thinking about this some more in a simpler way, wouldn't this work?:

knowing when viewing the feedback pot from the front, a pot turned fully clockwise connects terminal 2 to terminal 3. Fully counterclockwise connects terminal 2 to terminal 1 or does this not apply here?

so using a spdt or equivalent switch i can make a connection between terminal 2 of the pot to the center pole of the switch and then a connection between terminal 3 of the pot to one of the outer poles of the switch?

really simply yet interesting mod! once i also saw pics of a mod which added a switch to turn on-off the chorus/vibrato

scott_v

that also sounds like an interesting mod eventhough i don't really use the chorus/vibrato much at all and that effect on this unit seems really mellow and lacks abit more depth.

i would think a switch to turn on/off the vibrato/chorus would be just as simple as the infinite feedback one except the connections to the spdt or spst? switch would be between terminals 1 and 2 on the chorus/vibrato pot.  as when the pot is turned fuly counterclockwise the effect is off and at this point the connection between terminals 1 & 2 are being made.

eventhough the pedal is big and bulky with some empty space on the top, space would seem to be an issue as it would be great to have these mods as stomp switches so i can use my feet to swicth on/off and not give up a hand on the guitar, i can easily think my shoe/foot would miss-stomp on more than one switch.

i thinking about trying a pair of mods.
first chanche all the 4558 (i have a opa2134 for ic1 and the rest TL072), then i read something about tuning the 100k res at the input to have a better impedance.
then i found a mod to double the delay time, but this last one it's a bit obscure, i found it on a web page where the only reference of it was a little text and a pic, not even any tipe of schem!

i did that mod that doubles the delay time, i like it alot as when i switch from the normal delay to the long delay i get this nice weird sudden jump in pitch/time that gives the delayed signal a sort of rig modulated-tone. i used a toggle as i initially thought i'd be specifically using it in either long or normal delay but when i heard the pitch and time jump i now want to change the toggle switch to a stomp switch so i can continue to play guitar and switch at the same time.

the negative aspect of the doing the doubled delay mod is the additional "hiss" (not really "noise") associated to it, i believe this is probably the unpreferable way to increase delay but is the easiest... without playing with trimpots and having alot of additional components. for me i can deal with the hiss and it gives the sound a weird airy textural feel and is mostly noticable when i finish the last thing i play and the delay notes bleed off.

well the switch connecting the terminals on the pot didn't work, i guess i need to read up some more on how pots work and i'm back to the suggestion of possibly using a resistor in and out of parallel w/ the pot.
