i liek the sound a lot more than the THOR so i ordered the parts for it. but i'm beginning to worry about it. is it a matter of the trimpots or what?

Marc, there was no build issue with the Thunderchief, so you can go ahead with your build.
The reason we replaced it by Thor is because it was supposed to represent the Marshall 100W Superlead, and in this respect, for good or bad the Thor is much more accurate in many aspects, including the amount of gain available.

oh, i was under the impression that people weren't getting it to sound like the clips and were not happy with it.

thanks

At times, builders had difficulty biasing Q3 to 4.5V, but achieving a tone that more closely resembled the original amp was our main goal when we revisited the circuit.
