So I build a colorsound 1 knob fuzz, and the other day I tried to add a led, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. Whenever I turn the pedal on the led doesnt work, but when I unplug the power supply the light comes on for a second. I was just wondering, what are some common reasons why this might happen and I'll start debugging. Thanks  :)

Sorry for the late reply. I started watching kill bill then fell asleep on the couch.

I wired it like

                                               1          2          3
                                             -----      -----     -----
                                                4          5         6
                                             -----      -----     -----
                                                7          8         9
                                             -----      -----     -----

1- input on board
2- led -
3- pot (i think board output)
4- input jack
5- ground
6- output jack
7- to 9
8- nothing
9- to 7

I'm also getting a little bit of a problem with the sound of the fuzz. It works well on the bassier strings, but on the higher frequencies it doesn't really work. I'll go recheck all my wiring and everything. I'm pretty sure everything on the board is fine because I think it used to work right.

Is the other end of your LED connected to +9V, with a limiting resistor?  If the connections are truly as you listed, it should work fine.  A little "flash" when unplugging suggests a cap discharging thru the LED - a wiring problem/short circuit.
Check the ground wiring at the input jack, could be backwards.  Check the power supply wiring, if it is not correct it would obviously cause problems.

If none of those are the problem, then either the LED is backwards, burned out (in which case it would never light at all...), the switch is faulty, or something is not wired right.

Check all your connections; the switch wiring you listed is correct for true bypass.  Sometimes solder makes bridges between things which shouldn't be connected, and shorts them out.
This is where using a DMM is handy, check voltages and ground continuity, etc.  Maybe post the voltages you have at the fuzz transistors as referenced to ground, and that will give info about it not working right....

Be patient, you'll find the problem :o)
