I recall seeing a thread somewhere that suggested one type of capacitor over another in use with our stompboxes. I can't seem to find it..so here goes. What type of capacitor is best? There are so many types...mylar, polyester, polypropolyne, mica, tantalum etc...

Sorry if this is a tired question. Again my search didn't turn up what I was looking for.

Use what is readily available and if possible avoid ceramic disc unless you have to use them. Overly simplistic, but it works. See the FAQ which goes into detail about capacitors

Lots of fuzzes like ceramic caps though.

Basically - low noise is film and more grit and noise is ceramic.

Thanks for the direction to the FAQ...I'll check it out...shoulda thought of that. Also thanks for the pointers regarding the film and ceramic.
