Doug Hammond's Meteor: mods?

I'm thinking about building Doug's Meteor distortion, but I'm curious to know if it's similar to anything that I've already built. I've done the BSIAB II, Dr. Boogey, JCM800 and Umble. What is unique about the Meteor? Those that have purchased the GGG version have loved it.

Also, someone previously posted that the EQ doesn't do much and they modified it. Anyone else do this and/or other mods?

Weird... First time I heard that. We had the hardest time with that one.
