I have a Laney LC-50 II. It is a great tube amp and I am liking it more and more. Recently, it has started making a lot of noise. Even when I unplug my guitar and effects loop. I just changed out the pre amp tubes recently. Could it be the power tubes. I run my amp fairly clean and use distortion pedals to get my sound. I will do like Satriani and run the gain at about 3 and let the pedals push it the rest of the way. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

Take it to your local repair place. Power amp tubes seldom make noise. If it's making bad noise, it's probably not something you can fix yourself.
