If you have to power more tubes or draw more current, give a try to watercooling  ;D ;)

Yeah.........SMOKE ON THE WATER.......... ;D :icon_mrgreen: :icon_twisted:

12AX7s tend to have lots of grid current when the plate voltage is below about 100V.   I don't know if that has anything to do with it not sounding good at low voltages, but I think it's a contributing factor.

Yes i gave up this 12AX7 project and ordered two  12AU7s. I'll try do pepper shredder with two 12AU7s. Ill use passive cooling in the power supply, my mates have some taken out from the first computers Pentium1 or some thing. It will work my needs i hope.

ADD: If yo take a good look at the schematics, then youll notice that some capacitors are marked different, why so? They are not elecrolytic, arn't they?

The 1uF and 10uF are electrolyte.
The open square is positive.

I built it, and it should be ready. Everything is ok, only thing that troubles me is the output signal, its low. I think there is something wrong... I turned all the pots max and still i have to turn on some volume on my amp. Any idea? ADD: I used 47k log pot for Volume. Is it the problem?

try to remove the pot, wiring the output wire directly to the switch...
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

I don't think the 47K pot should make it too quiet, the output of the Valvecaster is pretty 'hot' with the gain full up. 100K is probably too much anyway if you're planning to use heavy gain - too much serial resistance dragging at the highs.
