Greets everyone!

After long time, I'm after something fresh from the start, and this time I decided I could butcher the legendary FZ-2 design...

The schem:

Now the idea is to ditch the flipflop pedal bypass stuff, take out the 3 way switch, and make it only "fuzz 1" variant, and possibly BMP tonestack instead of the bass/treble as in original (I don't like pedals with many knobs heh)...

And I don't know how to start with taking out the switching part, I guess first two fet's are out, but how do I bias the first two fet's then? I see the 220k going to 1/2V+, but shouldn't there be a resistor towards ground? 1M ? 100k? hm...

The transistors noted in the schem, I cannot find replacement types with the 10 year old IC/transistor database program, so I'm guessing regular RF type transistors like BF245 would work for fet's and BC549C for npn's and BC560 for pnp... I could use 741 for that opamp since I don't need a dual opamp (no fuzz 2 mode)

Anyone care to help a bit on this one? Especially how to remove the switching circuitry...

Thanks!
Umor

I marked it up. Send your email and I will mail it to you.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

i wouldn't mind seeing a simplified version of this.
