Hi,
There's a new veroboard layout in my gallery: The Maestro Filter/Sample & Hold. This was fun to build, and fired up right away - to my astonishment. Get your schematic at www.tonepad.com if you want to try this out. It's a bit of fun to experiment with, but you'll get better envelope filter sounds from R.G Keen's Neutron, and the Tone God's Vanishing Point will give you a lot cooler rythmic stuff... The FSH is pretty finicky with it's settings, too - real easy to get to sound awful. I'll put mine in a desktop box for experimental moments - nothing I would want to use in a band situation.
And yeah, it ticks...
There's a sound clip in my gallery as well, some seriously sh*tty playing :)

Hi - I've been quite intimidated by this circuit in the past, but I might try it from your layout and just be extra careful! I know it's de rigeur to apologise for one's playing, but I liked your clips a lot, they give a good idea of the range of sounds, and the playing was fine!

Very nice - you're the "Lord of the vero"!
Do you have problems with the ticking?

Thank you kindly, but I see vero more as a fetish than dominion - thus it rules me more than I do it. Call me a vero slave then!  ;D

I really don't mind the ticking, it's only there in the S&H mode, real quiet when I don't play and sorta part of the sound when I do. It doesn't clash much with the already pretty weird sound itself. Mine isn't boxed and has really long unshielded wires running all over the place, so there's room for improvement, I suppose. I tried this effect out with some line level stuff, synth and drum machine, and it did a pretty good job as a filter there as well.

I'm not  T shirt guy, but if I were - that layout is what I would want on it! Awesome!

wow, cool layout!
I may use it, in case I don't get rid of the ticking in the filter section of my PCB-based build.
If only would find the time :icon_rolleyes:
