Are there highgain/metal DIY pedals out there?

I had a request for a pedal like the Boss Metal Zone, so I've been looking around and can't seem to find anything. Maybe I'm just retarded, I don't know. I've found all the shredmaster clones and some of the stuff on the OLC and ROG and the BYOC and GGG kits, but I can't seem to find anything. Now, I've never played a metal zone, but listenting to the sound clips, I can't find anything that is close to a match. Maybe it's just that the soundclips that dont match up, but you can dial in the sound, but without playing it, I'm not sure what to look for.

So if you know of anything (preferable a kit, or atleast a PCB avaliable), I would much appreciate it. Thanks  :icon_mrgreen:

I'd also mention the Distortus Maximus/Burning Crunch. The 386 can do a crunchy high-gain deal if you feed it enough signal.
But of course a lot of the tone comes from pre & post EQ, so you'll have to look into that.
