I was curious if anyone may have one or have had one and tell me if the drive pot reacts kind of drastically. When the pot is up all the way there is full overdrive but as soon as you back it down there is no inbetween just like a clean boost. I've tried a couple of different pots like a 10k linear and a 5 k linear. Those gave me a little bit of control over it but realatively the same result. Is this something that is inherent with this pedal or what. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

The Pot should be 10K reverse audio taper I beleive.

I have an original and yes that is how it works, the distortion comes on almost like a switch at around the 3 o'clock mark.  The originals have a 10K volume pot, reissues use 2.2K.  Try some different values.

yeah i had the same thing. at around 3'oclock  you start to get distortion from the transistors.  didn't sound that great in mine, kinda misbiased  sounding.

Try the 2nd drawing with a 10K pot, 5K pot rises distortion... or, try the 10k pot with a switch with a 10K resistor between lugs 1 and 3!

I love this stompbox!

What layout did you use to build this? Also, did you use pcb, perf, vero?  Any pix?

I've adjusted the well known pcb from geofex, so the parts fit nicely and it is easier to solder:

also a pull-down resistor can be added now ....
