51 no-caster pickups low impedance?

Hope somebody can shine a light on this for me.
I put Fender Custom Shop 51 no-caster pickups in a Squier Affinity Tele. They sound great, but the neck pickup is rather weak in output. I changed the wiring to standard Tele specs (with 250 K CTS pots). Now if i roll of the tone pot the neck pu sounds very thin (no lows). So i removed the tone pot from the neck pu. Only on the bridge (it works good on that).

Now when i use fuzzes or lpb1 booster or electra overdrive the neck pickup sounds also very thin with no lows. Only with my Overdrive 250/Dist + clone it sounds good. Does that have something to do with hi or low impedance or is there something wrong with the neck pickup? ???

Thanks in advance!

Check the resistance of the pickup.  You could have a broken wire at the coil or coil to eyelets or back connection at the eyelets to the wires.

You're right! There's a loose connection somewhere in the pickup. If I measure the resistance it measures nothing. The other pu measures 7.3 K. How is it possible that I get any sound at all?  :icon_eek:
