Request Seymour Duncan King Tone Generator schematic and mods ?

Hi all,
I have a King Tone Generator tube preamp and I find it a bit useless because the clean channel is always too clean end the lead channel is buzzy-moquito-in-a-can sounding.
So I don't use the rack mount apparatus very often and it's collecting dust.

So I wonder if I could tune it with some parts substitutions.

Do any of you had experience with this preamp ?
Can changing the type of tube would be an option ?
Is it worth modding it ?
Do anybody have a schematic for this one ?
Could it be that it could sound good with a certain power amp and not with other (?)...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks !
