lyon washburn modding need help please

hi everybody, before i do the beginner project,i took apart a lyon washburn distortion. i got it for 10 dollars and i dont care if it gets ruined.

     is there any way to make it sound more metal-like? by like changing the  resistors or transistors to differnt kinds or something?
if not ill probably breadboard a metal style pedal and use the case then.  thanks in advance, Dan
