I am a newbie to building pedals and I don't quite understand how to hook up the transistors. I don't know what the B E and C (are those the correct letters?) are on the PNP's that I bought.

Another question, are IC's or DIP 8's interchangeable?

What kind of transistors are they? Silicon or germanium? Or more specifically, what package are they? Are they black half cyllindar shaped, or silver can shaped?
What's the part number?
Here's a link to common transistor pinouts:

As for the IC question, what do you mean interchangeable?
Interchangeable as in, are IC's and DIP's interchangeable? Because DIP's are just a form that IC's come in.
Dual Inline Package. If you're asking if certain IC's in a circuit are interchangeable with others, then yes, certain ones are. It depends on what the function of the IC is in the circuit.
Hope this helps.

leon, google is your friend even when it comes to trannies' pins...A quick research typing the tranny code and you got the sheet you need... :icon_wink:

Hmmm did you read the FAQ link above???

LoonDawg

I have used google, and i continually read the FAQs although I will re-read them with this in mind. That chart that was given was very helpful. Thanks for your help.
