After having to swim upstream and find a way to my parent's house in Vermont through a brief break in an onslaught of early and intense winter weather, all in the midst of what appears to be a world on the edge of falling apart, the simple joy of enjoying a laugh with friends and family has increased in value exponentially for me. And in that vein, I would like to offer a honest and hearty wish that each and every person who enjoys and contributes to this board is able to at time of peace and equal joy with all of those that they love and hold dear.

Well over a decade after I first stumbled into this world, it remains the most invigorating, communal, challenging, and intelligent gathering I have every had the honor to be a small part.

Thank you Aron for being the backbone of all of this, and to everyone who ventures through, may your New Year be filled with joy, happiness, and 'the disgusting stink of a too loud electric guitar'!

   Merry Christmas everyone. It's an electric one. I'm spending it alone with switchercad...      tragic really!

Ah yes, it is so nice to sometimes just be able to relax with your friends and family. Work has kept me very busy the last couple of months. Two weeks ago I ended the work week with an ice storm, last week ended with a small snow storm. I'm off for this whole week (yay!), and only have to fly out for a couple of days next week before getting a long weekend. I have hardly had much personal time let alone time to talk to my wife over the phone during the last couple of weeks. Jobs in my past kept me working through the holidays, so this is a nice treat for me. Also, this is the first Christmas since being a father (almost five years now) that my wife and I aren't actually searching for pennies in the house to pay the bills. I am very, very thankful for this time I have with them.

We had dinner with the in-laws today, over at our house. My wife cooked a pork roast which was dynamite, and I made the red wine butter sauce to go with it. Mmmm...I can't wait until tomorrow. It's going to be a mad explosion of wrapping paper, vacuum sealed plastic packaging, and a bunch of, "OH YEAH!"s. heheheh I can't wait to see their faces and play with them.
