How to get more "Girth" out of a V847?

I've done and/or tried most of the usual modifications that can be done to the circuit.  In fact the only thing that is original is the PC board and the housing.  I switched on the Metal Film Resistors to 1/4W Carbon Comps, I put in Polypropylene and WIMA caps, a Whipple Inductor, and a 100K ICAR style pot.  It also is true bypassed.  Anyway - the output of the pedal is pretty much unity, the sweep is pretty vocal yet is doesn't get muddy or glassy at the ends of the treadle sweep.  I just want it bigger sounding!!!!  It's not anemic - it's just lacking some girth.  Any ideas on how to get it?  Thanks in advance! - E

try another "more powerfull" transistor on the output of the wah.

did you try changing the sweep of the "toothed" wheel of the pot?

Near the bottom has several mods for various wah pedals.
I did the Fat Wah mod on my GCB-95 and it made a HUGE difference.

Did you change any values, or just do upgrades?   The Castledine mods and BYOC options explain everything you really need.

Here's a rundown. - it's true-bypassed so the input resistor is a 47K, the input cap is a .02uf Polystyrene, the bass resistor is a 390 ohm, the mid resistor is 1.8K, the "Q" is a 56K, the "range" cap is a .015uf.  I have tried moving the pot around and it changed the sweep - but not for the better.  I have plenty of vocality - it's the overall GIRTH I'm lacking.  I want it to sound BIGGER over all!!!!

replaiceng the original transistors in my crybaby to BC550 gave it more "balls"..if that means anything to you....I originaly replaced them to get the noise down and this was a positive sideeffect..

550's huh?  I have 108's in it now and the hFe's are in the 230-270 range....  Hmmm....

Just to bring this back to the top - I'm still trying to get girth out of a V847.  I tried the GCB-95 fat mod and I had no luck.  I guess I'm just used to using my old Fulltone Clyde Std for so long - I find the V847 to sound "thin".  Anyone else have some suggestions?  Thanks in advance.  - E

i think a fasel inductor will have a fatter sound than the whipple. It has been that way in my experience. I have a couple of whipples and some fasels that i have compared. lowering the bass/gain resistor. I think the stock value is 470 ohms or maybe 510. Adjusting that to something like 330 could help also.
