Hey Darron, long time no see.

Have you thought about using a thin veneer, glued to a plate of aluminium or another, stronger, metal? I think that would double as less wood used, and a stronger product.

Just my 2 cents.

Kind regards, Jake

hey jake. that's an idea. i hadn't thought of that. the main pain would be actually cutting the alumnium though, as my laser can not be used on metal (the beam reflects right off as it's the wrong type). would look ugly on a side view too hehe. i have made myself a metal scrathcplate for my SG by hand from aluminium. i might not want to use other metals as i don't know if it would interfere with the pickups?

here's what my take on aluminium looked like before and after i anodised it:

i think i'd rather natural wood. i have thinly cut wood of about 2mm that isn't ply but it seems near impossible to get it in large enough pieces to make the scratchplates. buh!

Blood, Sweat & Flux. Pedals made with lasers and real wires!
