Hi all,

I like this express pcb software, and as Ive figured out with the price quoting, if you can stick 2 of the same ciruit on one PCB and order 50 (for a total of 100) it is cheaper per piece than just ordering 100 individual pcbs of smaller size.

However then you have to cut the fiberglass which isnt good or easy to do, bad for the lungs etc.

So I was wondering if there is a way (which I havent found yet) to perhaps make a perforated line in the middle of a board, or a open line, such that it would be easy to snap off in two on the edge of a table, which would be quick and easy.  As such I havent found an option to do it, short of making a row of pads which seems like a bad solution and might not snap easily or cleanly.

The other idea is to make a long narrow notch using the insert board corners option like in this picture:

that way you could jsut easily break it in two because they are only joined by that small piece.  but i think it may mess up the manufaturing process?  or get messed up somehow, maybe im paranoid.

perhaps someone has some ideas

i imagine it can be done with normal software and pcb houses but, im working with what i know

thanks

It should be too hard to cut the two bits apart - just a vice and junior hacksaw. Don't use a Dremel or similar or you will create a lot of mess - as far as I can remember though PCB dust isn't particularly harmful.

Or get some PCB shears - they'll do a quick, neat, easy job of it (as long as you want a straight-line cut right across the board).
