Program to keep track of parts inventory ?

Is there an alternative to excel...something that I can download that will allow me to easily keep track of my parts inventory?

I'd like to be able to put in all of the part numbers and quantities and be able to update them as they change.

Found one myself. Its extremely similar to the microsoft office suite and has several good programs, including a database program that is like MS access.

Thats actually the name of the program as well (Open Office.org)

I built a database and forms and now have all of my inventory entered in so I can stay up to date with quantities, where and when parts were ordered and detailed descriptions of everything. Shweeeet
