I was salvaging some hardware from an old guitar that I've been fixing up. Until now all the electronics have only been tossed aside, but I had the time to start desoldering them and the like. I found some alpha pots labeled as D500k I believe they were the tone pots.  And I also assume the existence of D pots means that C pots exist. What exactly is different in a D  or C pot?

A D pot is accentuated audio. I think a C pot is reverse log but I'm not sure

I don't know about D, but C is definitely reverse log.
