Apparently, you can't edit posts on this forum, so I just deleted the pic that I took of Timmy's guts. I'm definitely not trying to intrude on Paul's intellectual property, I just wanted to show that the new Timmys are built on PCBs. Sorry about that, Paul.

you didn't have to pull the picture.  That didn't bother me at all.  I just don't want guys posting closeups of the trace side so guys can copy this thing exactly.

My take on it is if you have the ability to build your own then as long as they are not being put up for sale than that's fine.  But when guys are needing layouts and such then they don't know how to build their own.  When people start posting layouts then they are activily trying to have people build them instead of buying them from me.  It sort of says "don't buy one - I'll show you how to make one if you don't know how".  The next step is somebody offering kits...

Again - you didn't do anything wrong at all, and I don't have a problem with you posting a picture.  I just didn'
t see the need for guys asking for trace side photos.

Hi, Paul (or should I say, greetings, Tim the Enchanter),

Thanks for stopping in. I was referring to a very non-specific and unscientific observation about the physical arrangement of the components in Phintze's pic as compared to pics of the protoboard version that, as you know, are out there in cyberland, and I asked for the trace side only to confirm that this was, in fact, a pcb. But I understand your concerns, and I have absolutely no intention of making your life any harder, intruding on your work, or disclosing anything you would prefer to keep to yourself.

"You know much that is hidden, O Tim."
