well mine works good enough for me now and i added a tone pot. I like how it sounds now so im leaving it that way.

Cool sound clips.  I'm curious: on your modded Peppermill, are the clipping diodes going to ground, or in line between the .047 cap and 8k2 resistor?

Like:
                           ->|-
--> .047 cap -->          --> 8k2 resistor --> volume pot
                           -|<-
                         (diodes)

or,

--> .047 cap ------> 8k2 resistor --> volume pot
                      |
                      | 
                  diodes
                      |
                  ground

A brief revisit to this thread...

jftl (or others): I've checked out the posted soundclips -- sounds good, I'm guessing that's with the gain control set high.

Does your Peppermill + clipping diodes clean up reasonably well when the circuit's gain pot is turned down?

I should have thought of this before.  Look at this sub section of the Boss OD-3.  Notice how the diodes are set up with the Jfet on the right.  That would be interesting to try with the Pepper Mill.   :icon_cool:
