bazz fuss problem HELP!!!!!

ok, i used the layout that involved no vero trace cuts

and i am experiencing the same problem as in this thread

i get a really splatty sound , but when i touch certain traces, mainly the one connected to the collecter, i get the fuzz tone back
also it fades in like a tube amp when i engage it

i don't know the problem!!! i have all new componenets, socketed transistor and diode, and i have a 10k pot where the 10k bias resistor was.

i really want t get this one going, so any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

For one, I believe the diode is reversed in this layout.
