Volume pot to an amplifier

I wanna add a volume pot to this design. Where do I put it? What about gain control?

I believe you could, at least, make the 47K resistor a 47K pot. That would enable you to reduce the gain, and thus, volume (but not increase it). You could wire the left and right lugs to ground and input, and the center lug to the .22 uF cap going to the IC.

From reading the data sheet it says the max gain is about 45db and recomends not to set the gain below 36db so you aren"t going to get a huge Variation in gain , I suggest putting a Volume pot at the input that way you can go from min volume to max volume....
