EA Tremolo recommendations

I'm trying to build an EA tremolo.  I started with the R.O.G. EA trem first.  I had a little trouble biasing the mosfet which I know I can resolve but when I checked tonepad and GGG they also had versions of the EA.  Does anyone have recommendations for which one works the best or are all the versions created equal?
The other question is how critical are the NP 1uf caps?  I used electrolytic for all of them.  I noticed with the tonepad version that the trem worked only when power is first applied then the trem smooths out to no modulation in about 3 seconds.

If they're NP, they Have to be non-polarized.  That said, you can get non-polarized electrolytic caps and they'll work fine.

If somebody makes a mistake, help them understand what went wrong.  Show them how to do it right.  Be helpful.  Don't just say "you're wrong, moron."

Not sure if this will be useful to you or not, but last year I built the ROG version on perf, and I used tantalums for the 1uf caps in the LFO and it's worked fine ever since.

Well thanks guys for the info.  I'm still messing with it on the breadboard.  I have the tonepad version on there now.  I'll try going back to the R.O.G. version. I had a 10k trim instead of a 100k.  Hopefully I'll be able to bias the BS170 this time. Tant caps are polarized so maybe I still have a shot at getting it working. I'm typing this using my Wii game online. One letter at a time using the remote what a pain. Thanks again gentlemen.

Ok using the R.O.G. version and the right size trim pot it works.  I didn't use non-polarized 1uf caps.  I had to make sure that the orientation of them had the negative leads facing away from the transistor.  The third 1uf transistor needs to have the negative facing the 15k resister.  Other then that it works great.  Thanks again R.O.G.  and everyone on this forum.
I'm still curious about the other EA versions.  For some reason I had no luck with the other versions I tried.  Although I didn't try the GGG version yet.
