I gave this a shot a couple of days ago and the circuit is working :icon_rolleyes: but it doesn't sound that good. The fuzz isn't strong.(It barely distorts.)

Gave it a shot too, using 3904 and 3906...I wouldn't call it a fuzz, or at least mine doesn't sound like a fuzz - maybe ge trannies would turn it into a fuzz, but mine is basically a dirty booster/light od - reminds me of a cleaner muff fuzz - Good circuit anyway, tho' it's not my cup of tea...
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

How can i get more fuzz at a lower volume out of this? Its a killer pedal but its about 10 times louder than my clean amp when the knob is up. Thats where it sounds good!   I tried a volume knob on the output of the circuit but it affects the tone to much, :icon_rolleyes:

Perhaps the combination of fuzz + amp distortion is producing the sound you like.  If that's the case then you're outta luck.  But it is possible to get more fuzz from it, but it will vary depending on the transistors you used.  I would increase the value of the collector resistor on the NPN tranny.  Maybe 10k to 15k, but it might mess up the bias too much.  One other thing you could try is to replace that same resistor with a JFET constant current source.  That might increase the fuzz without screwing up the bias too much.

Hey! Please repost schematics, someone...  ::)
