Hello all,

I'm looking to build a 3 input to 1 output switching device. (Not a mixer). I'd like a single push button switch, which acts as a on-on-on, with an indicator LED for which input is selected.  As far as I know, on-on-on pushbuttons don't exist, so I'd likely have to use some sort of counter IC.

Each input will also have a volume control (10k pot?) since each instrument varies in signal strength. If it it could be powered by 1 or 2 9v batteries, this would be a plus. I'm trying to avoid any sort of amplification stage, and ensuring it doesn't "pop" when hooked to an amp and switching.

Any sort of suggestions on components or schematics would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Here's one I found a while back.  Maybe this is something that you can modify for your needs.

Hi

have a look at these,

it's a sequential switch for 3 FX + bypass, it pops a bit but the 3 fx are all high gain fx, and I never look this into deep.

it's based on the one posted by tranceracer, (btw if I remember its supposed to have some error)

It works fine, hit the button and it change from bypass to 1st fx then 2nd then 3d then bypass,

I have the schem+pcb layout in ExpressSCH and ExpressPCB if you need them.

why don't you just use a passive mixer?

it would be:
input 1 - switch 1 - vol pot - series resistor - output
input 2 - switch 2 - vol pot - series resistor - output
input 3 - switch 3 - vol pot - series resistor - output

it has 3 switches but is VERY easy
