Hey all, I purchased a Fender Hotrod Deluxe recently, and I am trying to figure out how to build the footswitch that would normally come with it. Fender was nice enought to post the schematics for the amp which includes the foot switch schematic, but I had some questions about the LEDs and if there was anything specific I needed to know about them. I have all the diodes and switches, but the LEDs (especially the 2 color or "BI-Color" one) is confusing me a little. I have not wired LEDs on anything without a resistor before, so that might be the beginning of my confusion. Any help would be appreciated.

The schematic for the amp is here, and the foot switch is on page 2 in the lower corner. http://www.fender.com/support/amp_schematics/pdfs/Hot_Rod_Deluxe_Schematic.pdf

Simply connect the bicolor LED just like it shows it in the schematic. The center leg is common to both LEDs.

You can test a bicolor LED to see which leg is which color by connecting the center leg to ground and connecting the outside legs one at a time to a battery thru a voltage dropping resistor.
