I'm going to be building the ToneBender MKII in a couple of hours, but i want to be sure I know what i'm doing so i don't burn out the transistors. Basically, since the schematic is negative ground, the only difference is that the battery is backward, right? I would just have the positive end of the battery straight to the ring of the output right? Anything else i should keep in mind? Thanks.

negative ground should have the the positive to the battery supply and negative to ground, all elecrtrolytic caps should be negative to ground. its the complete opposite for positive ground.

I'm going to be using this schematic...

all your positive in the schematic need to be grounded that means battery positive to output ground/all ground points. The negative is b+/voltage applied. Elecrolytic capacitors are all positive grounded.

what kind of transistors are you using?

if they're silicon then you may have to alter how Q1 is setup ... it's not a big deal ... I or someone else can point you in the right direction if need be.

I got the Germanium PNP transistors from smallBear so i think that schem. is right. Thanks though.

Derringer

yup, you should be good to go

I always like to breadboard stuff before I build it just to get a feel for how everything is laid out and works

consider that the OC75 version used a 10k at Q1's base and 47k at Q2's collector. the small bear set might be closer in spec to OC75s than to OC81D audio drivers.

I've yet to take the germanium plunge

all Si thus far ... no complaints
