Got some of these on eBay, apparently they are mil-spec AC128 clones? has anyone used these before, or know if I can use any AC128 datasheet?

kwijibo

No one? I'm having trouble finding any info on these online... ???

Toney

Yes the CV codes are European (I think military) part numbers.
If they are AC128s google is your friend, plenty of datasheets out there.

kwijibo

Yeah thats the problem, I can't seem to find a reference to CV codes to find out if they are actually AC128s or just Ge trannies sold as AC128s.

Hi.

'CV' values are indeed mil. spec. parts.
Happiness is a warm etchant bath.

I found a CV register http://www.tubecollector.org/cv/1963/cv7001-cv7090.pdf. The CV7001 is equivalent to the P.O.3, GET103 and ACY31. The CV7005 is equivalent to OC71, GET103 and 2N280.

It looks like the CV7005 will do nicely for a Rangemaster clone, any help on the CV7001? If all else fails I'll just test the hfe and throw them into a FF or similar, I'd just like to know if anyone had any recommendations.

Bought some CV7355 off eBay a while ago, and I built some FuzzFaces with them. After hfe sorting that is, a bunch of them were around 150, few a bit lower (100-150) quite a few from 150-200. I had a couple that were much higher (hfe 250), probably due to leakage?
They sound nice, but I am by no means an expert.

Regards,

Jarno.

These just arrived with a note that says they are AC128s tested to European military specs, I guess I'll just try them in circuits that like AC128s.

Did you receive my PM?
Curious regarding the costs and Ebayer who has these.... they look interesting.

Toney

Well, as R.G.would point out... numbers mean very little in the world of germanium.
Too many wildly swinging variables, as the were made and as they have aged.
It all comes down to how they test.

Have you had a chance to leakage/ HFE test them?

kwijibo

I haven't had the chance to test them, they just arrived today and I'm dealing with exams and project work at the moment.
