Hi all.

Forgive my ignorance, i'm new to this.  Trying one of my first projects (a simple clean booster) and i've got a problem.  Had everything set-up on the breadboard last night, and it sounded amazing.  Got everything to a circuit board and it sounded amazing, too.  Then I realized I had forgotten about switching (the battery would have been always ON the way it was setup) and tried messing with that, and now when I hook it all up, i'm getting the same boost, but there's an awful squealing going on when im not playing.  I've tried un-wiring everything I had done, and resetting it back to the previous way I had it set up, and the same thing.

Question.....does this sound like i shorted something and fried a transistor?

Sounds more like your output signal is feeding back into your input signal somewhere causing oscillation. Check your wiring
