I am trying to build a pedal that has true bypass, an LED indicator, PLUS a 2nd output for stereo.   an 4PDT switch would be perfect.  does one exist?   needs to be a heavy duty foot switch.

relays become problematic (size issue, plus current draw for the relay electromagnet).

Ripthorn

They do exist, but will set you back 15 or 20 bucks.  Small bear has them.

You can minimize relay current draw by using latching relays.  They have two separate coils, one for each position.  All you need is an alternating pulse to change the position of the latch. Here's an example of a 4PDT relay from Mouser:

653-G6AK-474P40-DC5 LO SENS 4PDT 5VDC

The only thing is, at about $9 a pop it may be more economical to use the Small Bear 4PDT switches.

Here's R.G.'s schematic and my modified one using 4049 inverter IC.
