Hey guys, this is my first post!!

I've looked over a bunch of pages on here and found some great information.  I'm new to building pedals and one of the things I'm interested in at the moment are mid-boost circuits.  What I'm really wanting to try is building a pedal with independent gain and mid-boost.  So far all I've found is schematics for gain boosters and treble boosters, but I haven't found any schematics for a mid boost (Although I keep hearing the Craig Anderton "Mid-Ranger" mentioned).  I have considered just buying a mid boost (Fender, EMG, etc.) and building it into a pedal, but I would like to be able to play with it a little and tweak it to my liking.  I'm thinking something like a 12db boost.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a good mid-boost circuit?  Any tips are welcomed!!

Thanks

"Bandpass" allows frequencies below x and above y through with less attenuation as you near the center frequency.
Simple as a signal input capacitor smalling, or a larging of capacitor From signal path to ground [add one if there's not one there].
Superfuzz has a 'notch filter' Mr. Hammer found how to make adjustable.
  GEO has a parametric.
Bandpass...can be made fixed, but some adjsutablity is quite beneficial, especially if you play at different volumes or in different rooms, and experimentation with something easily adjustable with good flexibility can help to find a design with knobs that go where you like but not much farther, features I look or design for, it makes it easier to zero on the useful settings and remember where they are.

In a similar vein to what petemoore is saying and while not exactly what you are looking for, the principle can be applied to whatever booster you like. I built I mini booster with java boost style filtering/tone ideas. Your input caps allow you to switch between full range boost, middle and treble boost or just treble boost. The addition of the presence control allows you to select the middle and treble combination and by rolling off the presence you have a mid boost. So all in all a very flexible option rather than a one trick pony. Maybe worth considering.

Have fun

Welcome!

There are lots of circuits that are good at mid boosting.  My favorite:  Tube Screamer with no clipping diodes.  But parametric eqs can be adjusted to boost the exact frequency you're looking for too.  Really good article at geofex.com.  Allllsooo- graphic eq.  That'll do it for sure.
