Pedal Power 2 Confusion

Hello,
Working on fixing an old DL4 pedal (agh!) but I've run into something that has confused me:
The Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 manual says that to power a DL4 you must use outputs 5 or 6 and to turn the voltage switch on the bottom to "on."  How can this be right though as this switches it to 18V???  (Double what the pedal requires.)

I have a feeling I'm misunderstanding something very simple, but this is an obvious hindrance to fixing my pedal.
I don't want to fry the thing even worse.

Any ideas?

What are the power requirements of the box in question ?
I read a portion of the PP-II's well worded advertisement/instruction sheet to mean outlets 1-4 are 9vdc, 100ma with the dipswitch in 'normal'.
1-4 become 12.3vdc, 60ma. outputs with the relevant dipswitches turned to 'on'.
To get 18Vdc, special cables combine 2 of the floating 9vdc outlets to create 18VDC.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
