To be honest I don't think there is enough tube activity here to warrent a seperate forum. Most tube threads are on tube amps which is not really when this forum is about. There are other forums which have been mentioned that are better for that. I think some people get used to asking techinical questions on effects here that they also ask about amps. Not a big deal but also not the focus of this forum.

When you look at the amount of talk about using tubes in effects its fairly small and is not over running the forum. That is not to say I don't like tubes in effects. :)

Personally I don't think another forum is required. Just my opinion.

Hey, uncle Jed ... I just made a tube amp to agitate them gators, you plug it in, wait till these glass tubes get warm, [they call's them the Vaccum tubes, but Granny sure couldn't use em for no cleanin'], well...anyways, when them tubes get good and warm [OUCH!!!},{They's warm now...], ye just take and throw the whole thing in the cement pond.

ah, but it ain`t me, babe:
my first contact with "them new tansistors" in the mid-sixties was disgusting to me: "you must solder them into the circuit with tweezers, or better with pliers, to keep the heat away"
and later on I was even told to "don`t touch them with your bare hands, they will die",
and similar stuff like "max. voltage, operating temperature range..."

Personally i like the forum as it is.I would like to dig a bit more into incorperating tube(s)into effects but i have never found (for me)understandable issues about for instance tube based phasers on the internet.Maybe Puretube can enlighten us a bit in that field, please?

I like the idea of a seperate idea for tube effects. Many are afraid  of the idea of using tubes? higher voltage ect..I think its the next step..I say go for it!

To me, amps and pedals are related. You feed your amp with pedals, and your amp needs to sound good with them. Something like the Shaka Tube isn't that far from being an amplifier... just stick on an output section, and it's a little amp. Anyhow, modding your amp a little bit might make take it from just OK, to great with your compliment of pedals. It kind of runs together for me.

On the flip side, IMO, the only places to get good info strictly on amps,  from knowledgeable people is here, Ampage or AX84. But, at this forum, I try to stick to projects that I know are from regulars here, such as Doug H.

On my MkII Tube Amp. Between 1996 [when I bought it] and about 1 month ago, I'd been working around the PROBLEM.
Once I did just a couple little mods, the thing is like a whole new racehorse...not it just growls under stress, where it used to bark and bite real nasty...really just plain indescribably better, for my purposes anyway.
That one modding session made so much improvement and difference...

If I put my one of my absolute favorite effects [my tube amp] on the Floor and put a stompswitch on it?...lol...

Sure, just do a JFET simulation of it. It seems to be the craze these days.
