Hi, I'm trying to build the fuzz from smallbox.zeonhost, using AC128's, but with the wiring from PNP w/LED from General Guitar Gadgets.  I have also added a dying battery simulator and BMP tone filter from Beavis Audio.

Okay.  So, the darn thing sound exactly the same if it's on or bypassed (and yes, I checked my wiring on the switch to make sure I didn't accidentally wire the input to the output).

So from playing around with the audio probe from the diystompboxes FAQ, it seems the sound dies in two spots: where R5, R4 and the 0.1uf cap meet; and between Q1, 22 uf, and the voltage.  I'm unclear about whether there are spots besides the pure ground that are supposed to be silent.  I've tried resoldering those spots a million times, and it never makes a signal there.

Other than that I really can't get any idea about what the problem could be.  I really can't fathom why it would sound dry whether the effect is on or not.
Also, when the effect is on, none of the pots seem to effect anything besides the volume pot.

I may lose my mind soon.

Okay wait, ignore that post.  I figured one thing out that was wrong (got two wires mixed up), but now it's still not working.  I'll post some explanations of whats up in a second.
