tube amp. transf. question

Can anyone recomend the correct type of  transformer to use in an tube amp. Something reasonbly priced  and what should I be looking for.

Mate, it really depends on so many variables - don't even know where to start!  Best bet is to figure out what type of amp it's going in to first, then go from there.

Are you looking for an output transformer or power transformer?  If the former, single ended or push/pull?  If the latter, what is your country's wall voltage, and what voltage/amperage are you looking for with the transformer?  Etc etc etc.

The fine folks at the www.ax84.com forum will help you out, but I'd recommend studying some schematics and doing some technical reading regarding how tube amplifiers work before you ask them a really vague, open-ended question.
