Hi everybody,
I have a poll up on my forum for drilling options for Prism I enclosures.  I'm going to do up a batch of pre-drilled ones (make it easier for you guys that don't have drill presses/work areas) and I need to get ideas for what you'd like to see.

You have to register to vote and if there is an option in the poll I haven't thought of, please detail your ideas in a post!

Also, if you are a member on another board, feel free to share this link!

hey nice work

Are the prism I dimensions the same as PRism II with the exception of the width? or is the whole scale of the box less?

tskullt

hey Slotbot,
all other dimensions are the same, the Prism IIs are 5" wide, the Prism I s are 3 1/4" wide...

Hey Mike, are the corners welded in your sheet metal enclosures?  Also, have you come up with a good way to machine them?  Its always been interesting in the past drilling sloped enclosures, as it means kludging together a ramp or something for it to sit on, so that the top is flat with the drill press.

They look really nice!

tskullt

No, they're not welded.  It's 16 gauge cold rolled steel and formed via CNC.  The corners are folded crisply and the tolerences are pretty tight.

Yeah, drilling on the slope is great fun!  I have a jig that holds the enclosures (front to back and left to right), but when drilling on the slant I prop it up with a block I made.

You need a drill press for the Prisms for sure.   I use good bits, slow my drill press down (900rpm or so) and some cutting oil and they drill up just fine.

The YY enclosures are cast aluminum, so they're much easier to drill.
