hi guys! i have two enclosures coming tomorrow to house my previous builds. one enclosure i will be using to house a Si FF and Si tonebender, while the other im planning to put in it a Ge tonebender with a switchable octave up. i mean

guitar > (octave) > TB > out

for the Ge Tonebender + octup, do you think there'd be popping issues when i hit the bypass switch? what problems am i in for just in case?

(DpDT switching for octave up - comes before the TB - shunts input to ground)
i am what i am, so are you.

ah, up? no love for the TB = Octave? im  :(

;D

oh btw, the octave circuit is not footswitchable. an ordinary dpdt switch will be used. thanks.

I can't help you on this sadly but funnily enough, i'm just putting in my order for a Tonebender to use my Ge Mullards in but couldn't decide what octave circuit to use, what did you end up using in yours? and if you boxed it did you run into pop problems?

hehe, nope. the plan didnt push through. i boxed the octave circuit with my slow gear build, made it switchable so i can choose which (SG/Octave) to use. i got tired of TBs though, idk, but too much gain just isnt my thing i realized. and my last two silicon TB builds didnt like sharing the same supply with other pedals, they seem noisy. even my Ge TB (negative ground though). but the Ge TB has something - a "sticky" tone to it - that i like. havent boxed it again (pulled it out in favor of a "better" fuzz).

i dont think there'd be popping issues, looking at schematics from different projects. as long as there are pulldown resistors i guess.

Lol i'm building a slow gear after this too! Stop stealing my thoughts lol.

Hmm, maybe I should choose a different fuzz to use the Germaniums in, although I have a few (gotta love harvesting vintage radios) although I wasn't intent on using a power supply with it, Keep it battery with no LED... not for vintageness, just lazyness and cheapness.

I think i'm gunna try the 'fun octave circuit' doug deeper posted here with the tone bender or whatever fuzz I build, see how that turns out.

Well i'l input ground the DPDT and then for the octave add on, it can pop all it likes as i'l only be using it as a toggle.

Cheers for the reply!
