I was reading about feedback and read about a 50ms delay causing feedback.
I am interested in controlling feedback and using it in a positive way.
I found a cheap Danelectro D4 Slap Echo and thought I would try it to see if I could get this effect from it.
I also read 100ms delay is good too.
I had the idea to hook a small speaker from the aux out and holding it close to the pickups.
An effects pedal would be awesome if it could do this.
I'm guessing this type of feedback would be influenced from changes in the string vibrations and such.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Feedback relatable to delays is about the amount of signal out from the delay chip that is fedback into the signal in. A delay only sends out one repeat of the original so it's up to the feedback to get repeats happening.

Sounds like you're more interested in feedback of the type that comes from an amplifier and goes back in at the pickups. That type of feedback tends to be reliant on the size of the room and it's shape as to what resonant peaks are available so simply having a speaker play back at the pickup may not be what you're looking for. What you'd most probably get is the sound pressure from the speaker resonanting those strings which are in sympathy with what signal is present but it would be minimal at most. Theres also the effect of the speakers magnet as stronger magnetic fields tend to dampen smaller ones.

I mean, I really don't know what might happen but it ain't gonna hurt to try.
Monkey see, monkey do.

Thank you so much,
I apologize for the lateness of my reply.
I came to the realization of exactly what you have stated. I love the feedback created from holding the guitar close to the speaker and thought I could experiment with this but am realizing there is so many factors that can't always be duplicated exactly.
I guess you just stand there and hope for something good.
The little speaker held close  to the pickup created a high pitched squeal and if I waved it just right I could get a phase sort of sound.
My Echo pedal arrived and I will try it out today.
It is people like you that makes this group the great thing that it is and I Thank you for it.
