Hi. i have an old envelope filter, dod fx25. It actually sounds pretty good, but as in many other dod pedals from that time, the switch is broken. Does anyone know of a replacement idea...is it just a momentary switch that does some sort of electronic switching?
The switch itself is a little flat/round switch, mounted on its own little board.

Yes, it's just a momentary switch, percussion type.
Underneath the plastic button is a little metal dome that 'pops' down and makes contact with a metal layer underneath it.
I replaced more of those than I care to think about...

Any momentary tactile switch of similar size and shape should do, if you're trying to preserve the pedal.

One time I re-used a DOD case (the electronics went south and I had better plans...) and simply replaced the footpad with a permanent piece of plastic and mounted a nice big metal momentary spst on it.
Worked a charm and will probably last as long as the rest of the pedal.
All children left unattended will be given a mocha and a puppy

oh yes....just removed the plastic, and installed momentary...and it works...
thanks

Just for everyone's knowledge, DOD/Digitech still sell the two types of switches those old pedals used on their website (last time I looked).  They are also available on Ebay at slightly higher prices.
