I am nearing the end of my leslie project . I fired it up today after oiling it and noticed the fast motor got pretty hot and needed a bit of help to get started. Has anyone else had this problem? Is the motor shot?
Thanks!

What type of motor is it? perhaps it needs a starting capacitor due to the weight of the load to "kick" it with a bit of stored voltage along with the inrush current.

That's a good thought but these motors aren't high amperage. The fast motor starts spinning the cheese wheel when I plug it in so I guess the oil found it's way to the troubled spot. The motors still seem to be heating up though. I have a neighbor who repairs sowing machines I think I will just get a new motor from him. Something with a bit more power so I can lay the leslie horizontally if I wanted to. I can't do that now. I am also going to add a lower bering this modal only has a felt sponge that your supposed to oil.
