So a while back I had my hand at trying a couple pedals, after quite a bit of frustration of not getting them to work, I took a break (about a year).  But now I've decided to try fix em up and was looking for a little help  :icon_surprised:.

Alright so the first pedal is the Rangemaster. It works fine, but for some reason I can't get the LED to work, what measurements can I take to check if I put it the right way round? Or are there any other measurements I should make. I used this layout:

and this wiring scheme: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/geb_rm_lo_pp.gif

I just can't seem to find the problem, like I said the pedal works fine, just I need the LED so I don't drain the battery on accident lol.

The second pedal is dragonfly's one knob colorsound fuzz: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/DRAGONFLY-LAYOUTS_0/TUTORIALS/album21/COLORSOUND_ONE_KNOB_FUZZ.jpg.html

I have the opposite problem, the LED works, but not the pedal.

I wired:

1    2   3
4    5   6
7    8   9

1 and 3 togeher
4 to input
5 toground
6 to output
7 to pot
8 to LED
9 to board

What measurements do I need to make to start sorting this out? Sorry I'm a complete noob and can't figure it out for myself lol.

Switch the connections on pins 7 and 9 for the colorsound and see if that works.

For the Rangemaster, do you have an LED in series with it to keep it from blowing?  Also, the longer leg of the LED is positive (flat side of the ring on the bulb is negative).  See how those work.

I feel a bit of an asshole for not keeping up with my help thread, so sorry for that in advance (I thought school started monday not friday so I had to power read a couple books...).

Well it's 11 at night so I can't test the pedals, so I'mma just ask a couple questions if that's cool. What do you mean about the blowing thing? How can I tell if it's blown, and also is there a way to check the polarity of the LED through a measurement? (The legs were cut alot at my noobish attempts of soldering, so I can't tell b that anymore, and the LED is all bezeled so it's a pain to take it apart).

Also I vaguely remember the colorsound used to kinda work but there was something wrong with it (I'm not sure what could've changed, it might've been when I boxed it... I'll try switching the pins in the morning, what makes you think that's it though?)

Thanks for the reply, and sorry for not keeping up I feel like a dick

If I ever have an LED I suspect is the wrong way round, I just put the legs of another one across it both ways to see if it should be working in general as in one direction it should light up.

I can't seem to find an LED anywhere in my piles of bits, I'll have to go pick one up from shack tomorow. Do I need to just make it touch? Or do I need to solder it in

Scruffie

Just touch it across the other leads, aslong as it makes a good contact and make sure your fingers aren't touching any connections.
