I've been looking over some Cv-->MIDI conversion module designs, and I was wondering if anyone here has run into a particularly good one. My goal is to be able to use my [future] analog sequencer to control either/both an analog synth and/or a MIDI synth.

Any ideas?

I have  a CV-to-MIDI board that I've been developing.  It was originally intended to take a drum trigger and a control voltage + control knob to set the MIDI Pitch and produce note-ons and note-offs.  It's pretty adaptable, though, to other purposes.  The analog trigger input can easily be changed to a generic digital trigger, making it a general purpose CV-to-MIDI device.  It also does MIDI merging, so multiple boards could be chained together.
The board uses a TI MSP430 series microcontroller and can be reprogrammed on-board.  I used a lot of surface mount technology along with through-hole for connectors, LEDs and other large parts.  There is an on-board switching power supply that accepts anywhere from about 7 to 35 volts DC input to produce the 3.3 volt power supply (with no heat sink required).
I can sell assembled and programmed boards for around $75 - $95.  You wouldn't want a kit unless you had the ability to program the MSP430 through the JTAG port.

Here's a picture of the board in an enclosure with the top off.

Thanks for the info, PJ--part of me wants to stick with DIY, but that module looks pretty nice. If I don't find a suitable DIY design, I'll send an email your way!
