Does any one know where a "how to" on this is?

Cliff Schecht

I'd assume it's very similar to doing a Whammy 4. Just cut the PCB traces that route to the input and output jacks and connect the effect input and outputs and the jacks to the switch like you would any other effect. Hope this helps: http://www.rodrigoconstanzo.com/Whammy.html

can anyone confirm this is the same for the wh-1?

The WH-1 will only be worth more in the future. I would just build a true bypass box and retain the value of the pedal.
Class A booster , Dod 250 , Jfet booster, Optical Tremolo, Little Gem 2,  mosfet boost, Super fuzz , ESP stand alone spring reverb red Llama omni-drive , splitter blender ,

NEVER use gorilla glue for guitar repairs! It's Titebond , Elmers, or Superglue

yeah, I'm, still kicking myself for not wanting to drop the 350$ used in 1998...

Im not concerned with the value. I dont have space for the box. Is it the same?

ayayay!

IIRC, when I had a Whammy I, it had a DPDT inside.  The Whammy 4 has a Momentary SPST inside, and is also used for calibration.  There's digital tomfoolery there I can't fathom.

Anyway with the Whammy I, I think you had to calibrate it by adjusting the treadle and maybe even the LDR if that got out of whack.

My point is, no I don't think it's the same at all.

Dear God, are you MAD seven?   I sold mine for 500 or 600.  They fetch more ridiculous prices now.  And they SUCK compared to a IV (which also sucks in it's own way.  Heh.)   I know you're not here for a lecture but I'd just build a TB loop and velcro it to the top of the pedal. There should be room there.

are you really suggesting he gunk it up with velcro tape?

just knock a quick $150 off the value while you're at it!

It is used live.  Its NEVER gonna be sold. I just want it true bypassed without a looper.

Molten,
I did my v4 with your help! Thanks!!!!!!!!
Have you ever done the wh1?

Haha, no.  There's other ways of attaching a pedal.  Besides, Goo-Gone covers a multitude of velcro-glue sins.   ;)  I'd think setting a TB on top of it would be the easiest way to retain its value w/o screwing it up.  But seven apparently knows what he wants.   :)

Hey btw I did your IV mod too MoltenVoltage, for a customer.  Worked out perfectly.
