HELP! Barber LTD SR

Hi all,

I had my LTD taken apart this afternoon to try to track down some rogue noise around the tone circuit.  Its a whooshing sound with some blurbs and pops.  Sounds somewhere between what think is a bad cap and a cold joint.  Anyways, it is post gain control, pre volume control, and disappears with the tone knob all the way up.  I thought maybe the 56n box cap there?  I know those RARELY fail so I pulled the board to touch up the solder joints to see if that fixed it.  I went to put it back together and the negative 9v battery wire is flying loose and I have no idea where it is supposed to reattach. Did not note that one in my before pics.  Any suggestions?

Figured out the wire, but the sound is even worse.  Now I am getting no bass passing through    going to try the 473 next to the pot...
