Is anyone  aware of how i can  build a effect pedal that would govern the gradual
entry of another pedal's effect?  Ex. If I wanted to go from playing dry without a chorus and gradually fade the chorus in or  using a
clean tone to a gradual distortion. Thanks.

Do you mean by a LFO or by a wah-like pedal?

By an LFO you can just use two VCA's, with the LFO signal inverted on one of them. Mix together the outputs, and you have a dry input into one VCA and the effect input into the other. You could also add a ramp generator to replace/switch with the LFO, so that you have a stompswitch and a pot - the stompswitch engages the fade, and the pot controls how long it takes - i suppose then you'd have to have some kind of sample and hold to keep the top of the ramp going... I dunno. But anything is possible!

You just have to design it.

EDIT: Theres another topic thats asking the same exact thing right next to yours - check it out. Something about "mixer". A guy recommends the LM1036, and I just checked it out - cool chip - looks very promising.

I would suggest side chains and slowgears or duckers with adjustable attack and decay. I suppose it depends on your time constants. Even using the PT2399 might work cause you could split the signal with one going to one effect and/or clean then set the time on the delay and send the single out from it to the other effect... hey! thats a good idea  ;D

Paralooper without the LP and then throw a PT2399 into the FX send without regen.
Monkey see, monkey do.

Not clear to me how you want to produce the "morphing".  Via foot control?  Via an LFO-based autopan?  Via envelope control? BTW, Toadworks makes a pedal that pans in response to signal envelope.

A morpher is a longtime favorite of mine. I have built a couple, including one I'm just finishing up now.

Think about Mark's questions about controls, then go see "Panning for fun" and "Applications of an audio Current Controlled Amplifier" at geofex for some hints.  The issues with morphers are all
1. What kind of volume changer will you use?
and
2. How will  you control it?

Everything else comes from the answers to those questions.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks Guys for the help, but unfortunatly most of this is above my head. I am pretty good at "monkey see, monkey do" type stuff. If there was a Vero layout i'd try it. I would think i'd like to adjust the morphing through a foot pedal type thing.

I believe this: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=78463.0
is the thread that JKowalski was referring to. I'm still trying to figure things out, but I will happily share my design here when it is finished. What I am looking to do should easily work for your needs as well.

Thanks Paul I will keep an eye on the thread
