DipTrace question...dragging components

Hi
for a while I had the ability to drag components on the top of the board while editing the tracks on the bottom layer.
Somehow I managed to lose that and now I can't remember/find how I got it working.
It was very handy, as you could see the effect of component movements on the traces much more clearly than choosing the top layer and making the shifts.
Any help is much appreciated.
cheers

that sounds like a good editing option but i have only been able to move components by selecting them from the side of the board that they are onand then select the bottom to tidy the tracks up.
You could sent an email through the diptrace help section, they usually reply with the answer within 24hrs.

Hi Brett,

You switch to editing the bottom layer (try the CTRL-B keyboard shortcut), then from the main menu choose: Layer|Display Mode|All Layers.  You can then move traces and components at the same time.

P.S.

I like DipTrace, and have figured out how to make it do everything I need it to.  It seems like Eagle is more popular, and I've thought about learning it - but just haven't had enough incentive to pursue it.

I've created a DipTrace component library that has my frequently used components in it (including a couple custom ones).  Would anyone be interested in collaborating on the further development of an Effects component library for DipTrace?  :icon_question:

Yeah ! i like Diptrace its so intuitive to use sand quick to learn. Ive been using it for quite some time now, the only thing i can't get it to do is component slots instead of holes . I have a library of parts i have made . From psu sockets to pcb mounted jacks and 3pdt switches and i have made 12ax7 type valve library as well. Very interested in some library swaps.
