Micro Pog - True Bypass?!?

Hey,

I've got an Electro Harmonix Micro Pog. I'd like to make this thing true bypass. It has no noticeable effect on my sound when buffered, but it does (strangely) effect my oscillators. When used, the pitches fluctuate up and down when running through the Micro Pog when turned off. Its quite annoying.

Anyway, could anyone tell me how to do this. I don't really care if it messes up the multiple outs of the unit. I just use it as a standard in and out anyway. I know analogman does this mod. Any help?

Thanks!

It depends on your skill level and how far you are willing to go. I did it by wiring the effect permanently on then putting in my own switching system. Since I was rehousing the unit into a larger case I had the extra room to add a new set of jacks to minimize the amount of modification I made to the unit.

The safest/easiest way to make an external switcher.

Hey, thanks for your response.

I'm not looking to rehouse the pedal. I just saw that analogman does this mod. I was thinking I could do it on my own. I just don't know what to do exactly.

I trace the footswitch wiring while it the effect was in the engaged mode then removed the footswitch assembly and hardwired the effect to be engaged using jumpers. I removed the LED since my switching system has its own indicator but I would guess that one of the poles on the switch is for the original LED. From there you would have to break into the board's audio connections by cutting the input and output jack traces then wiring the new per a standard bypass wiring.
